5 Easy Ways to Incorporate the Pantone Spring Palette into Your Design

Spring is (finally) here, which means that the Pantone Color Institute has released the new Spring 2019 Color Palette. You will see these colors in men's and women's fashion, but why not incorporate them into your next interior design project? While we may not be able to give you these exact colors, we can match them to similar colors from Sherwin-Williams. Check out our list of 5 ways you can use this color palette in your kitchen.

Wall Color

One of the easiest items you can change in your kitchen is the wall color. It's not a bad idea to change it up every once in a while to give the entire kitchen a new feel and personality. A lot of the colors in this season's palette are going to match perfectly with components that are already in your kitchen, as well as the style of the entire house.

What color would look best? It depends on whether you want a bold color or a neutral color. For a bold color, check out Hyper Blue (Princess Blue) or Blonde (Soybean) if you are looking for a neutral tone.

Kitchen Island

We all know that one of the latest design trends is to have mismatched cabinetry in your kitchen. One of the best ways to incorporate this is with your kitchen island. If you are designing a monotone kitchen and need a little pop, try coloring your kitchen island to match one of the colors from the Color Palette.

We love the idea of having a really bright and bold island that stands out from the rest of the kitchen. If you do, too, try out Exuberant Pink (Pink Peacock) or Secret Garden (Terrarium Moss). Not ready to commit to a bold color? No problem! We recommend using In the Navy (Eclipse) if you have an all-white kitchen, or Summer White (Sweet Corn) if you have a dark kitchen.

Backsplash

The kitchen backsplash is where you can really have some fun with your kitchen. From the color to the style to the design, each and every backsplash has the potential to be unique and a great talking point for your kitchen. If you are looking to redesign or add a kitchen backsplash, why not add a splash of color? You can either use colors on the entire backsplash or have a neutral backsplash with sprinkles of color throughout.

If you are thinking of using just one color on your backsplash, try Blonde (Soybean). If you have a neutral color in mind, but would like a sprinkle of color, check out Coral Reef (Living Coral) or even Offbeat Green (Pepper Stem).

Hardware

Updating your kitchen hardware is another great way to incorporate Pantone's color palette, although it may be a little difficult to do so. When you think of kitchen hardware, the colors Fiesta and Jester Red are probably not the first ones to come to mind, but why not? If you look hard enough, you can find kitchen hardware that matches whatever color you are looking for, whether it's Decisive Yellow (Aspen Gold) or Childlike (Sweet Lilac)!

Kitchen accessories/appliances

Alright, so maybe updating your kitchen to change something to a specific color isn't in the budget this year. No problem! There are a few simple things you can do, so you aren't missing out on the spring colors. For example, if you have a seating area in your kitchen, you can use accent colors, such as Sunflower (Mango Mojito) or Stop (Fiesta), to spruce it up and bring the outside, inside! You can also get different colored-kitchen appliances or decor that matches Pantone's Spring Color Palette.
